It was love at first sight when we first spotted the House of Talents baskets. The original designs and playful color schemes felt different than any other baskets we had in the store. It was only later when we spoke with the founder, Kate Herzog, that we found out what a truly amazing company House of Talents is.
Kate founded House of Talents with the mission of giving back to the community in her native Ghana. Her goal is to empower people by developing their talents. She hopes to use the profits from her company to build schools.
She has kindly given me some pictures of the basket weavers in Ghana working on the house of talents baskets. It’s truly inspiring.
Kate says that she lets the weavers make their own patterns so each one is unique. Here are a few that we have in the store right now.
